Performance coaching

The Investment Plan

Structured coaching for employees at risk — because sometimes people need support, not just discipline

When Discipline Is Not Enough

You have an employee who is struggling. Maybe they are on a performance improvement plan. Perhaps they are one more incident away from termination. You have tried coaching, documented everything, and are running out of options.
But here is what you also know: this person has potential. They have shown it before. Something is getting in the way, and your internal interventions have not been able to break through.

The Investment Plan offers a structured, external coaching relationship designed to give struggling employees a genuine chance to turn things around. It is called an investment because that is precisely what it is, an investment in your people before giving up on them.

01

Assessment with Supervisor

We start with you. What does success look like? What are the specific behaviors that need to change? What has been tried already? This ensures the coaching is targeted and aligned with your expectations.

02

Coaching with an Employee

The employee works directly with AKC to identify barriers, build self-awareness, develop new strategies, and create a Performance Recovery Plan. Sessions are confidential to allow honest exploration of what is getting in the way.

.
03

Progress Reporting

You receive regular updates on the employee engagement, progress toward goals, and AKC’s professional assessment of their trajectory. You stay informed without compromising the coaching relationship.

Who is this For

Good Fit

For employees who have demonstrated potential but are currently struggling, feel blocked, or have not benefited from internal coaching, and for leaders who want to offer a real chance before termination.

Not a Fit

For employees with integrity violations, situations where termination decisions have already been made, employees unwilling to participate, or performance concerns requiring clinical intervention.

About Confidentiality

Effective coaching requires honesty, and honesty requires safety. What the employee shares in sessions stays in sessions — with two exceptions:

1. Safety concerns (risk to self or others)

2. Compliance issues that would put the organization at legal risk

You receive progress reports on engagement and professional recommendations — not personal details.
